Libraries Unlimited ceased publication of Children’s Magazine Guide with the end of volume 62 (August 2010). This difficult decision was made so that we may focus on our core publishing business and continue to provide high quality professional resources for libraries.
The archived, fully searchable content of Children’s Magazine Guide will continue to be available to you online thru August 2011—free of charge. It covers citations of magazine articles and websites from September 2001 through August 2010. Go to http://cmg.lu.com. Don't forget,
Children's Magazine Guide now features the Index of Professional
JournalsSchool Library Edition. This index is located in the
back of each print edition of CMG and includes magazine articles
from six major school library magazines:
Knowledge Quest
Library Media Connection
LibrarySparks
School Library Journal
School Library Media Activities Monthly
Teacher Librarian
Articles are organized by A to Z subject headings which follow SEARS. We
do, however, take the liberty to adjust certain subject headings or create
new ones to better serve you. Unique to this index are subject headings
such as Library Programs or subdivisions such as Storytime
(e.g., AutomobilesStorytime). In addition, since this is an index
of articles directed at the school library profession, the main subject
heading School Libraries is typically assumed. Therefore, subject
headings such as Collection Development and Automation
are their own main subject headings in this index, instead of School
Libraries - Collection Development and School Libraries - Automation.
